The Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve stands as an exceptional example of Earth’s natural splendor, hosting a diverse array of wildlife. Acknowledged for its ecological significance. In India, UNESCO designated it as the first biosphere reserve in 1986 under The Man and Biosphere Programme. It boasts a rich indigenous heritage and an abundance of plant and animal life. The striking landscapes and remarkable ecological phenomena demand our conservation efforts. Additionally, the Nilgiris play a crucial role for the surrounding lowlands, acting as a consistent source of water.
